This is an amazing stove for the price, it is chinese craftsmanship but pretty good chinese not entirely too cheap. it weighs next to nothing and fits on any blended fuel gas canister. would have been nice if it came in a plastic case and not a nylon bag but the bag works fine when packed in my alpine stowaway. all in all definitely worth it, boiled a couple cups of water in a matter of 30 seconds or less and it sounds like a jet engine.

4.0 out of 5 stars Inexpensive and Practical, February 2, 2012

I bought this to use for backpacking. It got here and I used it with an MSR isobutane propane fuel cell, and it works great! I boiled 1 cup of water on medium flame in under 2 minutes. I don't know how much fuel it used, but its pretty sturdy and construction seems almost bulletproof. I would recommend it to someone who doesn't want to drop the cash on an expensive stove, but something at a fraction of the price that performs as good. Only gripe is that the legs aren't very adjustable, which really isn't a problem but just know it before purchasing. Solid, fast, economical. Buy one!

Just got it today for my Bug Out bag and its great for the price. the fire you can tell will use up a little more fuel than the $30 ones but still does what it needs to. its a lot smaller than i thought it was going to be which is a real plus. works well.

there's not much to one of these adapters, which will be used to refill lighters and butane torches from Lindal-valve canisters - this can save money...

but what twists me is that i received an adapter with no lanyard or ring in a sealed Primus package

so, one star off for bad product description and photo

and another star off because i'd have to eat S/H on a return

and another star off because i'll have to cobble my own ring and lanyard (one of the reasons i bought this particular adapter over the similar Brunton tool)

4.0 out of 5 stars Workning ok, July 19, 2011
This review is from: Primus Filling Adapter for Use with Butane Canisters (Sports)
The adaptor don't come with a lanyard.
Its working fine (remember to fasten the adaptor to the canister real tight - till the gas starts coming out - or ells there will come no gas out of your canister).
Fill your leighter outside - there is some gas leaking when I'm filling my leighter.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good product, but poorly represented, September 19, 2011

This product is great and will save me space and money in the long run versus butane lighter refill canisters. However, the picture for this item shows it with an small lanyard attached. This lanyard is not actually on the product and neither is the small ring that it is attached too. I am worried that without this lanyard the small metal adapter will be very easy to lose.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simple and Indestructable, September 20, 2006
By
The Beach Guy (Huntington Beach, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Coleman 425F499G 2 Burner Compact Gas Stove (Sports)
I have had my Coleman compact stove for 29 years. I use it for two to three trips a year and use it every day of each trip (usually 9 or 10 days per trip) to cook big meals on. It is EXACTLY the same as the new model. It has never needed a repair. I just clean it after each camping trip. Coleman fuel is inexpensive and easily found in any part of the US and a gallon of fuel lasts me practically two years. The stove fits perfectly inside a 16 gal rubbermaid container with all of my other cooking gear (including pans). I absolutely recomend this stove. You don't need one of those fancy complicated other stoves. The basic Coleman stove is a workhorse that doesn't break down.

5.0 out of 5 stars White Gas way more economical than propane, March 30, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
This review is from: Coleman 425F499G 2 Burner Compact Gas Stove (Sports)
The main motivation for me to buy this stove was to not have to worry about continually buying and safely dispose of propane canisters.

Pros
1) Walmart sells white gas for $9 a gallon - and it lasted me three weeks of cooking two meals a day on a road trip.
2) The wind breaks work really well (most of the time).
3) The flame is really hot (you even cook stir fry on this stove).
4) Construction is sturdy and simple.

Cons
1) Having to pump and prime the stove is a little more complicated than a propane stove - but once you've done it a few times it is pretty easy.
2) Be sure to have a small funnel when pouring in the white gas - the hole in the gas tank is really small and it easy to make a mess.

5.0 out of 5 stars unchanged in more than 50 years, April 14, 2009

(VINE VOICE)
This review is from: Coleman 425F499G 2 Burner Compact Gas Stove (Sports)
This 425 2-burner Coleman stove has remained (relatively) unchanged in more than 50 years. This stove is simple, mechanically bombproof, and offers features unmatched by today's assortment of higher-priced, more 'convenient' stoves. For example, the 425 may be found nearly everywhere and shares rarely needed replacement parts across the product line. Tanks, valves, and generators are nearly interchangeable. The stove is easy to clean, spacious, and offers two burners: the main with a higher output, and a secondary, controlled by a simple turn key on the left-hand side of the stove case for simmering. This means that Iron Chef-wannabes can easily cook multiple entrees or multi-course meals on the camp table. The case offers a built-in windscreen. The tank is suspended by two tabs, although you can pin the tank if desired. The pump uses the ubiquitous Coleman pump assembly (although more recently this assembly uses a plastic washer). This stove will last a lifetime and you will not be... Read more
