5.0 out of 5 stars Big Capacity, Compact Storage, July 1, 2006
This review is from: PerfectFlow InstaStart Fold'n Go 2-Burner Stove (Sports)
I've never been a fan of propane stoves. They always seemed flimsy, made for those toy-sized backpacking pots and pans and potentially dangerous - until now. After two weeks of RV-ing, the Fold 'N Go has become a welcome addition to our set up.

It is very sturdy and seems extremely well made. The wide separation of the two burners and heavy-duty pot supports allow for two large, heavy fry pans and/or stock pots at one time. Few stoves of any kind can handle simultaneous large pots. And it seems very stable when set on a table.

And because it folds in half and becomes its own carry-case, even though it handles such large tasks, it's easy to carry and takes up very little storage space. It also has an instant start feature - you just turn the nob and then press a button and that's it. You're ready to cook.

And after you're done, clean up is a snap. Unlike other stoves where you have to take them all apart to try and get at that nasty, spattered grease,... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Works very well - 4 1/2 stars, January 15, 2008

This replaced an old 2-burner fold-up box grill. If you value portability this is definitely worth getting.
PROS:
- Very compact when folded, easy to carry, assemble, store.
- Cooks food quickly, even in mild winds.
- Instant ignition works well.
- Wider grates allow for bigger pans (though due to having no wind screens)
CONS:
- A wind screen would be nice, but you can always put something nearby instead.
- Dials are mostly 'full-on', so it's hard to turn down to a simmer without extinguishing the flame.. but it is do-able.

2.0 out of 5 stars Waste of fuel, June 27, 2009
By
This review is from: PerfectFlow InstaStart Fold'n Go 2-Burner Stove (Sports)
I really wanted to like this thing. It's pretty, and the design is clever. Bought it because I wanted something more compact than my old, finicky 2-burner white gas stove. I liked the folding design, easy ignition, simplicity of propane fuel, claim of consistent performance even when fuel is low.

Day one of a 3-day trip, fuel bottle 80% full, stove roared to life easily, cooked hot. Valve very touchy, couldn't open it more than 1/6 of a turn w/o overheating. By day 3, bottle 25% full, opened the valve 2 complete revolutions and still the flame wasn't hot enough to cook a pancake. My daughter, who usually likes my pancakes, was unimpressed to say the least.

Reasons: 1) lack of windscreen. With even a light breeze, the heat just blows sideways. 2) very high pot support. Distance from burner to pot more than double that of other stoves. Exacerbates problem #1. 3) poor regulator.

I took the stove back to the store and swapped for a less expensive Century... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Cook Fast - Cook Well - Enjoy Your Trip, August 5, 2008

This review is from: Camp Chef Professional Series GB-90D Pro 90 Deluxe 3 Burner Modular Cooking System, Black/Red (Lawn & Patio)
I was looking for a three burner campstove when I found this Camp Chef 90D. The three 30,000 btu burners boil water for your coffee really fast on a cold morning and they fry those hash browns for breakfast... crisp and quick. This is not an overnight unit. Short trips deserve simplicity and an old two burner Coleman works fine for one or two nights.... but for those 5,6,7 day or or longer campouts... this is a great product. I even use it in the backyard to accompany my Weber when cooking for a crowd. The grill is industrial strength and the bars are a little far apart so you have to be careful how you set down smaller pots. My next purchase is the carry bag for this 58 pound behemouth and the two burner BBQ box to upgrade my camp kitchen output. The legs are not adjustable but very sturdy. Carefull... Amazon sold me what was suppose to be a NEW unit but it came with a bent faceplate and scrapes on the legs... but for the price I just took it with me rather than return.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Stove! Needs heavy duty pans, runs very hot!!, February 17, 2009

This review is from: Camp Chef Professional Series GB-90D Pro 90 Deluxe 3 Burner Modular Cooking System, Black/Red (Lawn & Patio)
This is a terrific product! Purchased to accent my outdoor grill. Often when BBQing, I'm also trying to cook sides that are boiled, simmering, etc so running in and out of the house was a pain. This has three very powerful burners that fire up and work extremely well. Thus the reference to heavy duty pots and pans in the title for this stove. Thinner hardware will not hold up to the heat these burners produce.

So I am finding myself using it fry bacon, fish, and other items on a regular basis that normally leave a long lingering smell/odor when cooked indoors. Even my wife who constantly refers to me as a gadget freak agrees it was a good purchase.

Travels well too! Folds up with the two attached end shelves that are very handy when cooking. Legs tuck underneath and slides easily into back of wagon.

Would highly recommend!

5.0 out of 5 stars Burn Baby Burn, December 9, 2009

This review is from: Camp Chef Professional Series GB-90D Pro 90 Deluxe 3 Burner Modular Cooking System, Black/Red (Lawn & Patio)
The BTU's are awesome. Clean-up on the red side tables is easy, wipes right up. Everything folds into a neat package for transporting. The electric igniter made me the envoy of camp, no more fighting the campfire starter (my kids) for the lighters that never work. I nursed a well used camp chef bbq/stove combo for almost a decade but at last it could not handle this years Thanksgiving Turkey in the desert. I'm extremely satisfied with this choice of stove and only wish my home stove had as much BTU. Amazon offered this item at a great price I couldn't fine anywhere else and shipping was a prompt.

4.0 out of 5 stars What I Needed, November 1, 2008

This is what I needed and seems to be good quality. Minus one star because the price is so high.

It was hard to tell from the description (here at Amazon and other web sites) if the connectors on this hose were correct for my needs and how it attaches. I ordered it anyway and luckily it is what I needed to connect a propane tank (the type that is normally used for an outdoor grill) to my 25-year old 2-burner Coleman camp stove. One end of this hose has the same connector you find at the top of the small 16oz Coleman propane cylinders -- so it attaches to the metal tube connector that normally goes between a 16oz cylinder and the stove. The other end of this hose attaches to larger propane tanks like the new one I just bought. I don't know what a 20# tank is, but mine is like 3 gallons in size -- the usual kind that people use for outdoor grills. I found out, however, that it does not fit the quick-release connection that I have on a different propane tank that came... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Well made hose!!, August 15, 2009

This thing is nicely designed and built. Just to emphasize what others have already said - it connects the 20 pound propane tank to the regulator on the stove. *It does not connect directly to the stove - you still need a regulator!* The regulators on the newer stoves are on metal tubes with 45 degree angles, the regulators on the older stoves are on rubber tubes.

It makes so much more sense to use a refillable big propane tank than to dump those little empties in the land fill.

5.0 out of 5 stars Connects perfect to a grill and a 20lb propane tank, October 19, 2010

Bought this for my portable Weber 386002 Q 100 Portable Propane Gas Grill; works perfectly with 20lb propane tanks.

Works like a charm, but CAUTION: If you plan on disconnecting the 20lb tank with the hose, you may receive some propane blow off. THIS IS OK! It is just the build up within the 5 foot hose.

HOW TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE:
Towards (or at) the end of cooking, close the propane nossel to off while keeping the grill turned on high. This will burn off all the leftover propane in the line. I usually turn it off within 3 minutes left of cooking as to not waste it; sometimes it'll continue burning, slower and slower, for 5 minutes after.
